Yes! Meyer Hatchery does offer a Sex Identification Service (SIS) to assist in identifying males (or females) on your order of chicks or broad breasted turkey poults for a flat $6.00 fee.
Typically, the males in the order are marked, but if the number of females is less than the males, we may mark the females instead. Males are identified either with a leg band or by placing the identified chicks together in one corner of a divided box. The shipping department will determine the best method of identification. If the chicks are banded, make sure to remove those within 7 days of hatch.
The Sex Identification Service cannot be added during online checkout, so please give us a call, chat, or email to add this service to your order!
If you have one of our rare leg-banded breeds on your order, the male will be marked by a 2nd blue leg band. Please read here for more information about our Rare Breed ID policy.
