Is the event free?
Yes! It is free to attend. Bouncy houses, crafts, water, and concessions will also be free. There will be food trucks on site for a fee, should you chose to partake.
Where do I park?
Please enter the hatchery on the North side, off Highway 620. There will be signs and attendees to help direct you to a parking space. You will not be able to enter and park thru the east entrance off State Route 89.
Can I get a tour of the hatchery?
Yes! Customer Appreciation Day is the one day each year you are able to get a tour!
Mmmm… food trucks. What kind of food will be there? What if I have a special diet?
Lorenzo’s will be there with pizza, including gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options. Buehler’s will be on site with smokehouse pork, brisket, and chicken as well as smoked macaroni and cheese. Ruggies will be on site with gyros, sandwiches and freshly squeezed lemonade.
What accommodations are available for handicapped attendees?
Meyer Hatchery will have up front handicapped parking, as well as handicap-accessible porta potties. We have allowed plenty of aisle clearance as well for general navigation.
How do I enter to win the giveaways if I am not present in person?
Simply fill out this entry form! Winners will be notified Sunday, June 16, and winnings shipped Monday or later that following week.
When will you announce the winners of the giveaways?
Online and in person winners will be drawn and announced hourly.
Do I need to be present to win?
For the in-person giveaways, yes, you do need to be present to win. People that are not able to attend in person, we will have online giveaways.
Will I be able to pick up feed the day of the event?
While our drive-thru will not be open for safety reasons, we will cart feed to your vehicle and load for you.
Can I pre-order Started Pullets or chicks?
No, those are first come first serve. Additionally, we are limiting bin chicks of all types combined to 25 per family. Started Pullets are limited to 10 per family.
What type of chicks will be there? Will there be waterfowl?
We will have assorted female chicks, female bantams, broad-breasted turkey poults, heritage turkey poults, ducklings, goslings, and guinea keets.
What are the prices on the bin chicks and started pullets?
Chicks $2, Ducks $7, Guineas $6, White Broilers $2.50, BB Turkeys $5, Geese $12, Heritage Turkeys $13, Rainbow Rangers $3
What type of demonstrations will be there? Do I need to sign up?
You do not need to sign up, simply show up in the demo barn or shipping department at the specified time. In the shipping department, there will be brooding and chick care demos every hour on the half hour for the duration of the event. In the barn, we will have the Ohio Nationals judges on hand for showing demonstrations, followed by Q&A. Big Bear Homestead will also be there doing demonstrations on predator control.
Will there be sales?
Yes! Feed will be $1.00 off per bag and 15% off all merchandise purchased (some exclusions apply) on the day of event ONLY, in-store and online.
What if it rains?
Event is rain or shine! Most everything will be under a tent or in a building. If it is considerable, we will make accommodations for the kid zone.
Speaking of kids, what is available for them to do?
We will have a small bouncy house for the littles, a larger obstacle course with climbing wall for older kids. There will also be crafts with Molly for all ages.
Will there be portapotties?
Yes! As well as handwashing stations.
Will there be a limited edition decal this year?
Yes! In fact, there will be two. These will be free. We will also have a limited edition t-shirt available for purchase.
What is the Homestead Fest?
This year, we added in vendors related to homesteading! They will be located under a tent for your enjoyment.
What if I want to be a vendor next year?
