Once you place your order of started pullets, you will get an email confirmation with the pick-up date, time, and location. These details are not flexible since the pullets are typically transported to the pick-up location from one of our grow-out barns. They are temporarily kept in stacking cages while they wait for your arrival. You will need to bring your own cages for transport home. Dog crates or poultry transportation crates work best and provide excellent ventilation.
When you arrive for pick-up, check in with the store staff to confirm your order and find out where to proceed to pick up your new flock members. When you arrive at the pick-up location, give one of the poultry handlers your name. They will again confirm the number and breed of pullets you are getting. Present your cages and typically the handlers will load the birds in for you. Be sure to verify your order is correct before leaving the pick-up location. Please be aware that our staff will use the upside-down hold method for large quantities of chickens to transport them into your cages.
