Meyer Hatchery Offers Relief Amid USPS Shipping Fears
Meyer Hatchery offers customers support during shipping fears stemming from political and pandemic frustrations.
Polk, OH - Today, Meyer Hatchery - an industry-leading hatchery offering 160 breeds of poultry, announced they stand in solidarity with the United States Post Service. After recent distress and delayed shipment allegations against the USPS, Meyer Hatchery faces increased customer concerns amidst high demand.
“We want to make it clear to current and future customers that the United States Postal Service is the only economical option for shipping live poultry.” FedEx, UPS, and other carriers prohibit the acceptance of live poultry outside of next day delivery, while others disallow shipment altogether. “Shipping poultry for over 35 years, a large part of our business relies on USPS. We trust in their services and support them during this unusual time,” states Karen Meyer, Owner of Meyer Hatchery.
While it’s no doubt USPS is seeing delays, live orders do receive priority. Meyer Hatchery confirmed their local postal service representative reached out to Shipping Manager, Barb Bricker, to verify increased shipping times were not experienced. Together, they work closely to ensure orders take the best routes, arriving at their final destination alive and timely.
Meyer Hatchery hatches poultry and ships the same day, with shipments typically taking 1-3 days to arrive. Chicks digest the yolk as the last part of the hatching process, which sustains them for transport. All orders with Meyer Hatchery are also covered by a 48-hour live arrival policy, covering any instances of loss or injury during transit and up to 48-hours after arrival.
Ben Brushaber, General Manager, stated, “Our team has been working around the clock to support customers’ demand amid a global pandemic. Not only are we providing live poultry, hatching eggs, and supplies but also customer support with live agents available by phone, chat, and email.”
Meyer Hatchery has pioneered the poultry industry by being the first to offer small minimum orders, a 48-hour liveability policy, 100% gender accuracy policy, and specialized identification services. They pride themselves on their commitment to excellent customer service and authority in education with endless virtual resources found on their blog, social media, and podcast.
