Personality Filter Terms Clarified

Please remember, while we try to do our best to describe general breed or hybrid traits, each chicken has its own personality. You may have one that doesn’t fit the description and that’s ok.  Every chicken is unique, just like you and me.

• Active - Likes to move about and explore. Generally, a good forager. May not like confinement.  
• Calm - Not easily upset or flighty.
• Docile - Generally not bullies.
• Dominant - May be assertive, or bossy. This one may want to be at the top of the pecking order.
• Flighty - One that may startle easily and/or can fly well and allow it to get over fences easily.
• Friendly - Generally enjoys being around other birds and/or humans.
• Varies - Used for assortments where personality can be any of the above.
