How to Check for an Overhatch

What is an Overhatch?

Sometimes we have more chicks hatch than expected; we call this an Overhatch. As chicks are pulled from the incubators and orders are being filled on Hatch Day mornings (normally Mondays), we count the extras and update the availability on our website. 

How does this benefit you?

An Overhatch allows you to add to your existing order by contacting a Customer Service Representative or allows you to place a new order. Remember, additions can only be made before your order is pulled for packing and goes into fulfillment. We cannot make any changes to orders once that happens. New orders must be placed before 11:30 am EST on hatch day.

How do you check for an Overhatch?

Early in the morning on your hatch date, go to our main website and select What's Hatching. Click on Filter by Week Available, and select today's date. Scroll to see if the breed you're interested in is available. The best time to check is around 8 am EST, but the site is updated throughout the day as needed. 

Can you purchase Overhatch chicks at a discounted price? 

Yes you can! We now have the option to purchase Overhatch Day Old Chicks! If you are flexible on the breeds you receive and want a great deal on an assortment, this is a great choice for you! There is a 15-chick minimum and you might only receive one breed but we will include more if possible.
